Mark J. Kost, P.E., co-founder of Capital Construction Consultants, Inc., has contracting and consulting expertise based on over 35 years of construction contracting and consulting experience.  Prior to co-founding CCCI, Mr. Kost was an executive for a large general contractor headquartered in the Mid-Atlantic region.  He held direct management supervision over construction projects totaling in excess of $700 million.  His years working for a large general contractor as a project manager has given him an in-depth and practical understanding of project controls and scheduling, estimating, construction costs, and the value of good project management and administration. 
 

His consulting expertise includes project management and project oversight; CPM scheduling; analyses of contract disputes, including damage calculations, productivity impacts, forensic engineering and accounting, and delay analyses; litigation support; and extensive knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).  Mr. Kost has been qualified and provided expert witness testimony on all of the foregoing.  Mr. Kost also has extensive knowledge in the area of claims avoidance and dispute resolution.

Mr. Kost’s expertise includes the following construction types:

He received a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree specializing in construction management from Penn State University.  Over the years, he has furthered his knowledge of changes, claims and general construction methods through various training programs.  Registered as a professional engineer with the Commonwealth of Virginia and the State of Maryland, Mr. Kost has used his technical expertise to manage special construction projects such as major cast-in-place concrete structures, from overall field supervision down to form and equipment selection. Using his engineering expertise, Mr. Kost has been instrumental in solving complex construction problems.
